Communications Developer
Overview:

As a Communications Developer, you will design and develop high-quality, customer-facing email and SMS communications, ensuring they are clear, accessible, and aligned with brand standards. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work remotely, creating scalable templates and modules that enhance customer engagement across outage alerts, billing reminders, and transactional notifications. Your technical expertise will directly impact millions of customers’ experiences while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment that fosters innovation and continuous improvement.
Required Skills:
- 5+ years of professional experience in developing customer-facing email and digital communications
- Strong HTML email coding and CSS skills for responsive, cross-client communication development
- Experience with AMPscript and Server-Side JavaScript (SSJS) for personalization and dynamic content
- Experience building communications in Salesforce Marketing Cloud or similar platforms
- Ability to support and troubleshoot email and SMS development across devices and environments
- Knowledge of accessibility, deliverability, and compliance best practices
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with cross-team partners
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with Convey platform
- Building or maintaining reusable communication design systems or pattern libraries
- Use of analytics or performance data for communication optimization and A/B testing
- Agile experience, including sprint planning and backlog refinement
Preferred Education and Experience:
While formal degree requirements are not emphasized, extensive hands-on development experience is essential. Candidates should have a substantial background in digital communications, particularly within regulated industries such as energy or utility.
