Salary Range: $55K-$60K

Position Summary

The Benefit Verification Admissions Supervisor will supervise and support a team of permanent and contingent Benefit Verification Representatives. The Benefit Verification Representatives are responsible for benefits investigations and verifications for complex drugs through major medical and pharmacy benefits. The Supervisor will provide oversight for the benefit verification team to ensure accurate verifications and data entry have been completed. The supervisor will ensure that the team is trained, growth, and motivated. They will assist with hiring staff for incremental growth or re-staffing open positions. The role will validate the accuracy of the team's work and ensure that performance goals are met. Interfaces with a variety of internal customers including account managers, sales, pharmacy managers, contingent workforce managers, manufacturer representatives, reimbursement and upper management. Ensures that all HIPAA, policies/procedures and compliance requirements are met within the department.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Training

  • Extensive experience in benefits verification with expertise in major medical and pharmacy benefits.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to coach and develop a high-performing team.
  • Proficiency in Excel and other data management tools to track operational efficiencies.
  • In-depth knowledge of medical policies, insurance processes, and patient eligibility requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills to navigate complex benefit investigations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while ensuring accuracy and compliance

Essential Job Duties

  • Leadership & Team Management – Supervise, Mentor, and provide performance feedback for Benefits Verification Representatives, ensuring a high-performing team.
  • Operational Oversight – Monitor daily workflow, troubleshoot benefit rejections, and ensure timely and accurate processing of benefit verifications.
  • Training and Development – Lead onboarding and continuous training efforts, ensuring employee understand the department processes, software systems, portals, and industry regulations.
  • Process Improvement – Identify opportunities to enhance efficiencies, optimize verification workflows and implement best processes for accuracy and speed.
  • Reporting & Data Analysis – Utilize reporting tools to track performance metrics, analyze trends, and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration – Work closely with Admissions, Pharmacy, and Revenue Cycle Management team to resolve any benefit verifications or investigations needed.
