The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for answering inquiries and disseminating information about the organization. This position establishes and maintains effective and efficient systems for paper flow, auditing, data entry, and communication. This position assists with daily operations of the Quality Assurance Department including maintaining communication between the Director of Quality Assurance and the organization.

The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for answering inquiries and disseminating information about the organization. This position establishes and maintains effective and efficient systems for paper flow, auditing, data entry, and communication. This position assists with daily operations of the Quality Assurance Department including maintaining communication between the Director of Quality Assurance and the organization.
- Monitors client clinical records concurrently and retrospectively, utilizing established outcome criteria (i.e. plan of care, goals and objectives).
- Assists clinicians in accurate coding, OASIS, and other required documentation completion.
- Assists with orientation of new staff as necessary.
- Organizes and/or participates in scheduled staff meetings and in-service education, client care conferences as needed.
- Supports Administration with process development and oversight.
- QA Specialists with a license to practice in their respective field will:
- Act as a clinical and regulatory source to Administration, agency personnel, and the QA Performance Improvement committee.
- Maintain clinical skills and support field clinicians.
- Demonstrates a desire to set and meet objectives and to find increasingly efficient ways to perform tasks.
- Completes work with accuracy and within agency time frames.
- Requires minimal supervision and is self-directed.
- Keeps abreast of post-acute care and hospice trends and knowledge.
- Uses own knowledge, experience base, and other resources as necessary to make logical decisions and solve problems.
- Specialty Certification in Coding, OASIS or Similar, and/or degree in health-related field
- Experience with ICD-10 coding certificate required
- Training or experience beyond a traditional education in home health/hospice, coding, quality assurance, case management, or leadership
- Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span
- Able to assess data reflecting the client's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each client's requirements relative to their age-specific needs
- Skilled home health or hospice experienced preferred
- Experience with Home Care Home Base
- Home Office: 801 Rosehill Road, Jackson, MI 49202
- Work Location: Remote
- Office Hours: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday
