The HR Specialist will vork across the organization to ensure our internal systems foster a healthy, collaborative, and mission-aligned work culture. Key Responsibilities:
Lead Core HR Functions and Operations
- Support recruitment processes including job posting, candidate outreach, screening, and coordination of interviews.
- Maintain accurate and confidential HR records, contracts, and personnel files.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure positive transitions for staff and contractors.
- Develop and refine HR policies that prioritize equity, accessibility, and psychological safety.
- Help build structures for performance reviews, feedback loops, and professional development.
- Advise staff on HR-related questions and ensure alignment with provincial and federal labour standards.
- Apply anti-oppressive and trauma-informed practices to HR systems and decision-making.
- Monitor and support initiatives that foster staff wellbeing, inclusion, and growth.
- Collaborate with leadership on team-building, conflict resolution, and culture initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience in human resources, people operations, or HR coordination-preferably in nonproft, grassroots, or mission-driven settings.
- Strong understanding of employment law, HR best practices, and equity-informed policies.
- Strong organizational and administrative skils; high Excellent to detail and confidentiality.
- Clear and compassionate communication skills with a team-oriented mindset.
- Comfort with digital tools such as Google Workspace.
