About the Company:

The Finance Group Global Inc. provides outsourced finance and accounting services across North America. We service businesses across all industries by completely managing the company finance function through Bookkeeping, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Financial Analysis, Reporting, Compliance, and Strategic financial planning.


Position Summary:

The Controller position oversees the financial operations of the client companies. The right candidate will oversee a team of accountants and ensure the timely and accurate delivery of the customer’s financial statements based on the specific customer mandates.


Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Financial Management:

  • Oversee and manage the clients’s accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial data entry and reconciliations.
  • Manage cash flow, including forecasting and budgeting to ensure sufficient liquidity.


Strategic Financial Planning:

  • Develop and maintain budgets, financial forecasts, and financial models.
  • Analyze financial data to provide actionable insights for decision-making.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend operational improvements.
  • Support long-term business goals through strategic financial planning.


Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, accounting standards, and financial laws.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit processes.
  • Maintain accurate records for internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Ensure effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.


Leadership and Team Collaboration:

  • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.
  • Mentor and develop staff using a supportive and collaborative approach: assign accountabilities; set objectives; establish priorities; and monitor and evaluate results.
  • Provide analytical support to The Finance Group internal management team including the development of internal management reporting capabilities.
  • Ensure the creation and maintenance of standard operating procedures.


Special Projects:

  • Prepare ad-hoc reports and analysis as required
  • Special finance-related projects as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • University Degree (preferably Business Finance) and CPA financial designation preferred
  • 5-7 years’ experience in progressively responsible leadership roles in Finance
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses and financial principles
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency
  • Results-oriented
