Role summary


Reporting to the GM, the District Manager directly influences the success of the company’s promoted product assets by overseeing the hiring, training, coaching, performance management and execution of their Health Solutions Consultant (HSC) teams. The District Manager creates and executes business plans to deliver the sales strategy and ensure the adoption and overall success of new and existing products. The District Manager works cross-functionally across the organizational to enhance the capabilities of the field and create increased overall customer value. Works independently under general supervision.


Key responsibilities


Sales Leadership & Performance Focus:

Drive district sales performance as the top priority by setting clear targets, executing national strategies at the local level, and holding team members accountable for achieving and exceeding sales goals. Use data-driven insights to track progress, adjust tactics, and deliver consistent sales growth.


Coaching & Development of Sales Reps:

Coach, mentor, and develop a district team of 10–12 Pharmaceutical Sales Representatives (HSCs), with a strong focus on sales execution, messaging impact, and closing skills. Conduct regular field visits, ride-along, and performance reviews to elevate selling capabilities and accelerate individual and team success.


Talent Acquisition & Retention:

Recruit high-performing sales professionals, ensuring team composition aligns with business needs and company culture. Provide ongoing support, development opportunities, and recognition to build engagement and reduce turnover.


Territory & Strategic Planning:

Develop and execute impactful business plans at the district level aligned with national objectives. Lead business reviews and strategy sessions to evaluate field execution, promotional effectiveness, and market opportunities.


Customer Engagement & Relationship Management:

Establish and grow trusted relationships with key healthcare professionals, institutions, and clinic networks. Support reps in identifying customer needs and delivering value-based solutions that enhance patient care and drive prescription growth.


Cross-Functional Collaboration & Compliance:

Partner with Medical, Marketing, Market Access, and Compliance to ensure integrated field execution. Ensure full adherence to pharmaceutical regulatory and ethical standards maintaining integrity in all sales and promotional activities.


What you’ll bring


Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Business or Science is required
  • A post-graduate degree in a related field would be considered an asset


Certifications or Designations

  • Valid driver’s license
  • CCPE Basic
  • CCPE People Management Accreditation


Experience

  • 5+ years of previous pharmaceutical experience including experience in other facets of commercial organization (e.g.. Marketing)
  • 10+ years of previous pharmaceutical experience (e.g. Sales and Marketing) with 5+ years of direct people management experience


Knowledge and skills

  • Leadership skills with a high degree of professionalism and business acumen to develop and execute cross functional business plans
  • Skilled in all forms of communication (e.g. oral, written, presentations) that supports the ability to build credible relationships with external customers and across all levels of the organization
  • Collaborative, with a roll-up-your-sleeves and get it done approach.
  • Attention to detail, ability to multi-tasking, and organizational skills to manage the complexity and demands of the business.
  • Skilled and experienced at motivating, developing and coaching teams with diverse skills sets and personalities
  • Looks to push accountability and decision making down into their team and take on the role of advisor
