We are seeking a skilled and experienced Field Application Engineer to join our Customer Success team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in deploying and optimizing cutting-edge computer systems and AI hardware. This role is hybrid, based out of Santa Clara, CA, Austin, TX or Toronto, ON.

Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise and support for our computer systems and hardware products, focusing on system installation, configuration, and optimization.
- Work closely with customers to implement and integrate hardware solutions into their existing infrastructure, ensuring compatibility and high performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, firmware, and software issues related to systems, AI accelerators, and OS platforms, primarily Linux.
- Conduct rigorous testing and validation of hardware and system performance to ensure stability and efficiency.
- Train clients and end-users on new technologies and hardware setups, including the use of virtual machines, containers (e.g., Docker), and job scheduling tools like Slurm.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to system configurations, processes, and service records.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to provide feedback on products and to discuss potential improvements or custom solutions.
- Stay updated on the latest industry trends and technologies, particularly in areas like firmware updates, driver optimizations, and hardware accelerators.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.
- 10+ years of experience with computer systems and hardware, including detailed knowledge of CPUs, GPUs, FPGAs, and other accelerators.
- Physically install, move, and repair system components including servers, accelerator cards, and PCIe devices.
- Strong understanding of Linux operating systems, including OS configuration, optimization, and administration.
- Knowledge of data center environments including power requirements, cooling systems, and rack configurations
- Hands-on experience with system software including drivers, firmware, and hardware-related software tools.
- Experience with electrical systems as related to computer hardware, including wiring, cabling, and cooling solutions.
- Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced technical environment. We value practical skills and a willingness to tackle challenges just as much as formal experience.
- Technical proficiency with virtualization technologies, such as virtual machines and containers.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues efficiently and provide actionable solutions.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, capable of working directly with clients to understand and meet their technical needs.
- Willingness to travel to client sites for installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
