Jefferson Consulting Group is seeking a Vice President of Human Resources.




This role will be based out of our headquarters in Washington, DC but can be remote with travel to the office for critical meetings and events.

Responsibilities:




This position is responsible for leading the end-to-end Human Resources function. The ideal candidate will have experience in operational, strategic, and team leadership.




Strategic Leadership:





  • Participate in the development of the company's plans and programs as a strategic partner but particularly from the perspective of the impact on people.

  • Provide forecasting, capacity planning, and other talent metrics to support data-driven decision making and strategic planning.

  • Provide guidance to Executive and Senior Management on HR-related issues.

  • Partner with HR stakeholders to develop strategies and plans on change management opportunities and special projects.

  • Establish credibility throughout the organization with management and the employees, in-order to be an effective listener and problem solver of people issues.

  • Participate in strategic meetings and present to Board on occasion as directed by the CEO.






Operational Leadership:





  • Enhance and/or develop, implement, and enforce human resources policies and procedures of the organization by means that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the company.

  • Oversee employee relations practices, including investigations, conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance processes.

  • Direct the administration of benefit programs to include health, retirement (401k, ESOP), disability, and unemployment, with associated vendors.

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, specifically, talent acquisition to ensure seamless transition of candidates from hire to on-boarding. Ensure measurable feedback mechanism is in place to continuously monitor employee experience during the on-boarding phase.







  • Oversee internal compensation program to ensure regulatory compliance and competitive salary levels.

  • High level oversight of the semi-monthly payroll process.

  • Manage the affirmative action program and requirements for the effective management of the people resources.

  • Manage and develop appropriate policies and programs for the effective management of the people resources.

  • Lead and manage all aspects of HR systems administration, including implementation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) platforms.






Team Leadership and Development:





  • Coach, advise and help set priorities for the team aligning individual development and strategic business needs.

  • Create and enhance a culture of commitment to excellence, problem solving, and customer service.






Required Qualifications:




    • 15+ overall years of experience with 5+ years of experience in a Human Resources Senior Leadership role with a track record of accomplishment for HR services delivery that positively impacted business results in the federal contracting sector.

    • Bachelor degree in a related field. Advanced degree is preferred

    • At least 6 years working in HR with government contractors.

    • At least 5 years of broad HR Generalist background including organization / job design, workforce planning, staffing & recruitment, performance management, talent development, compensation & benefits, employee engagement, ideally in a government contracting and sales driven business.

    • A track record of having built partnering relationships with leadership to advance the business.

    • Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local employment, wage and salary laws and regulations.

    • Ability to interpret and direct the application of EEO/AA Laws.

    • Excellent interpersonal, writing, speaking, analytical and prioritization skills.

    • Proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability

    • Ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

    • Successful team leader with ability to improve and enhance HR's value proposition within the company.









Preferred Qualifications:





  • Experience with ISO and CMMI a plus.
