Established in 2024, NFPA Global Solutions (NGS) is a separate fully owned NFPA corporation dedicated to advancing safety by offering compliance solutions, digital products, and advisory services that are designed to advance fire, life, and electrical safety across the globe. NFPA Global Solutions will introduce new offerings via acquisitions and new businesses that extend beyond the traditional products and services offered by NFPA. NFPA Global Advisors, the first business within NFPA Global Solutions umbrella, was launched in March of 2024 to support governments and companies in implementing the NFPA Fire & Life Safety Ecosystem.


As the company embarks on an exciting phase of growth, we are seeking a strong Human Resources Business Leader to be responsible for managing the day to day of the operational functions of the Human Resources (HR) function including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. This position is part of a dynamic team that works in a fast-paced environment where customer focus, simplicity and efficiency are required to support the growth of the business.


Responsibilities:



  • Overall administration of payroll, compensation, benefits and recruitment functions.

  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

  • Develops new HR competencies required for effectiveness in a rapidly changing business model including, the ability to be a culture and change steward, to be a capable talent management advisor, to think strategically, to coach and influence, and to be a business ally solving problems.

  • Ensure effective talent management including recruitment, assessment and development as the organization grow, internationally and domestically. Assist managers in assessing and identifying resources to meet employee/departmental training needs and support of employees.

  • Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.

  • Counsel and/or coach employees and managers regarding employee relations issues including performance management, facilitation of formal/informal complaints to resolution, discipline and/or terminations in line with local culture and the business and legal environment.

  • Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.

  • In-depth involvement in HR due diligence and transitions with regard to future acquisitions (communication, compliance, and benefits/compensation benchmarks).

  • Core HR programs will need to be simple, standardized, scalable, measurable and effective.

  • Update management on policies/processes as necessary.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP Certification.

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience and a strong foundation across the full breadth of HR functional expertise including talent acquisition, learning and development, compensation and total rewards, employee relations, organizational effectiveness, HR systems and analytics.

  • Background with B2B professional services, software products and engineering driven environments.

  • International experience and global mindset, a plus.

  • Previous acquisitions, due diligence, integrations experience, a plus.

  • Established track record of driving and delivering results.

  • Collaboration and teamwork will be essential in managing the culture changes inherent in the future growth.

  • Demonstrated expertise in talent review, talent management in leadership and technical levels.

  • Develops and maintains effective relationships with business partners and cross-functional teams at all levels of the business.

  • Willingness to work on corporate projects and initiatives that impact the entire business.

  • Ability to enable data-driven decisions, multi-task and problem solve.

  • Ability to create and implement effective communications strategies to broadly disseminate information regarding strategies, objectives, priorities and accountabilities.

  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency to overcome obstacles and achieve measurable results. Resourceful and driven. A true "self-starter."

  • Knowledgeable of HR Best Practices, outsourcing vendors and leading edge, third party, HR consultants in the marketplace.

  • HR leader with expertise in developing high performance work culture with a customer focus to outperform our competitors and drive business success.

  • Previous success providing effective coaching to leaders, managers and direct reports to optimize their capabilities by providing feedback, advice and suggestions to ensure success.

  • Strong knowledge of the laws and regulations relating to human resources.
