We are currently looking for an energetic, hard-working Support Services MH to work a permanent full-time position on our Day shift (Monday to Friday 7:00h-15:00h EST) at our Alliston facility. The following are dress/gowning requirements: safety glasses, safety shoes, ear plugs, jumpsuit, hood, hairnet, beard cover, gloves, isolation mask and boots (additional PPE required when cleaning)
- Constant or intermittent exposure to elevated levels of noise
- Involves working around equipment, machinery, and belts
The Support Services Material Handler is Cross-trained to perform a variety of MH and QA jobs within the plant. Flexible to with the ability to transfer to other departments as required Typically provides coverage for vacation and short term illness.
Duties performed on a rotational basis
- Perform all functions for a number of the following positions: Viaflex Pack MH
- Sterilizer Operator, Warehouse MH, Bliss MH, Overpouch MH,
Concentrates MH - Perform Rework/Re inspection as required Follow instructions on Product Retention to rework product including inspect, re-carton, label, and palletize.
- Typically provides coverage for vacation and short term illness.
- Also responsible for washing parts and performing rework as required
- Learn, understand and apply thorough quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
- Notify the supervisor and take appropriate action if any safety, quality, mechanical or discrepancy issues occur
- Sustain a clean and safe work area using 6S principles
- Must be able to pass the ERGO testing due to the physical nature of the job
- Successful completion of High School diploma or GED required (Proof will be requested)
- Experience doing repetitive tasks
- Fast-paced environment, high pressure
- Ability to work in noisy and warm, wet conditions; also heavy lifting involved.
- Must pass ergonomic assessment to ensure ability to perform bonafide essential job duties
- Manufacturing/Quality experience in a GMP environment
- Demonstrated good attendance in present position
- Demonstrated good performance and good quality in present position
- Utilize Baxter’s Shared Commitments
- Complete required tasks on the following computer systems: BMTS, EBR, Infinity, JDE & Kronos T&A
- Experience in trouble shooting mechanical problems
- Demonstrated problem solving and prioritization skills
- Tow Motor inspection and driving (Reach, Counter balance and Walkie)
- Proven ability to be proactive and self motivated on the job
- Must have the ability to comprehend Baxter Specifications/ SOP’s and determine appropriate corrective actions
- Flexibility to work overtime as required as well as the ability to support midnight and afternoon shifts on short notice
- Proven ability to be proactive and self-motivated on the job.
- There is a high degree of mechanical aptitude and creativity in the execution of this function.
Pay Transparency Language:
We understand that compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a pay rate of $28.45 an hour. You may also be entitled to a shift premium for all shift premium eligible hours which will be included in your bi-weekly pay. Shift premium pay is subject to change and is at the sole discretion of the Company.
