Position Summary

The Senior Project Manager provides project management and subject matter expertise in support of capital and operational projects within laboratory operations. This role applies the ePMO gating and delivery framework to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget, while delivering their intended value. The Senior Project Manager leads diverse teams of employees, stakeholders, and contractors to achieve objectives, while fostering collaboration and accountability. This role also meets regularly with project teams and cross-functional partners to review progress, plan next steps, and ensure alignment with organizational priorities.

This position is primarily remote; however, the successful candidate must be based in Toronto, ON, and able to attend on-site meetings, town halls, and celebrations on occasion.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage the implementation of laboratory operations project deliverables according to the ePMO gating and delivery framework, including integration, scope, schedule, budget, procurement, quality, communication, and resources.
  • Plan and execute multiple concurrent cross-functional projects across different phases of delivery.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks, opportunities, changes, and conflicts.
  • Ensure sustainability of new product or service implementations, evaluate effectiveness, and conduct post-implementation reviews to drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide regular project status updates and maintain open RAID log items.
  • Participate in strategic project governance for prioritization, reporting, and decision-making.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and support to team members on tools and process adoption, as guided by the Center of Excellence (CoE).

What You'll Bring

    • 10+ years of project management and analytics experience.
    • University degree or equivalent experience; formal Project Management training and PMP certification (or equivalent) preferred.
    • Proven experience managing cross-functional teams and complex laboratory projects, including validation and implementation of laboratory equipment.
    • Experience with laboratory construction and phasing.
    • Ability to manage 1–3 medium to large scope projects simultaneously.
    • Strong financial acumen specifically to project management.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and PPM tools.
    • Excellent facilitation, change management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to work with ambiguity and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
