PRIMARY PURPOSE: To collaborate with and assist Forensic Scientists and Engineers to investigate and/or document events.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS And RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists Forensic Scientist and Engineers with forensic testing.
  • Maintains and manages evidence by safekeeping property in such a manner that the individual items are secure from theft, loss, or contamination.
  • Transports evidence as instructed.
  • Maintains chain of custody reports with notations of any and all actions associated with evidence.
  • Ensures the timely and legally correct notifications of Fire Investigators and Engineers for release/disposal of evidence collected and stored by the Company.
  • Works closely with internal and external customers to provide proper notifications regarding work orders.
  • Coordinates the disposal of evidence which is authorized for disposal, including any special disposal of explosives / hazardous specimens.
  • Procures and maintains adequate supplies. Manages distribution of containers and evidence collection kits to customers.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS And RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Supports the organization's quality program(s).

Qualifications

Education & Licensing

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred in Engineering. Experience in failure analysis and causation determination is preferred. Having the ability to obtain a Professional Engineering license (P.Eng.) is required.

Experience

Two (2) years of experience or equivalent combination of experience and education required.
