  • Driven by the demands of speed and online readership growth, the multimedia journalist must flexibly juggle assignments as well as generating ideas for content to attract and keep readers returning to The Guardian's website daily.
  • A strong understanding of SEO and best practices for web is considered a bonus, as is familiarity with platforms like WordPress, but support and training will be provided.
  • Our candidate is a team player, willing to work with colleagues to do investigative pieces or larger projects, and able to work independently, as this is a work-from-home role.
  • The candidate must be able to generate story ideas that coincide with the LJI mandate to cover climate change and the environment.
  • The ability to use digital tools to identify news needs and maximize ways to meet them is critical to the position, as is working closely with the managing editor and assistant news editor.
