Accounts Receivable Specialist

The Opportunity:
 

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to own and optimize our retailer AR processes across wholesale and dropship channels. This role will focus heavily on big box retailer accounts-including EDI invoicing, deduction management, and weekly customer portal reconciliations.

In addition to day-to-day AR execution, you’ll be responsible for ongoing account cleanup, audit readiness, and formalizing customer onboarding. You’ll collaborate closely with Sales Ops, Retail, and Logistics to resolve issues at the source and strengthen processes across the business.

• Confident navigating ERP systems (we use Fulfil, with integrations through Shopify, Orderful, Mirakl, DSCO, and retailer-specific platforms).
• Collaborative and proactive, comfortable working cross functionally with Sales Ops, Retail, and Logistics to resolve root-cause issues.
• Resilient and positive, approach challenges with a “what can I get done today”, solutions oriented mindset.
• Excited by roles where AR accuracy has a direct impact on cash flow and working capital.

Responsibilities:
 

• Retailer AR Management
  • Manage end-to-end retailer AR for high-volume wholesale/dropship accounts (big box retailers), including invoicing, cash application, and payment tracking with accurate EDI invoicing/remittance, while investigating and resolving retailer deductions and collaborating cross-functionally to prevent reoccurrences.
• Reconciliation & Cleanup
  • Perform weekly reconciliations of customer portals (e.g., Target, Costco, Macy’s, Nordstrom) to ensure invoices, payments, and deductions are accurate, maintain clean AR aging and unapplied cash, resolve historical balances, and support the month-end close with AR-related reconciliations.
• Audit, Compliance & Onboarding
  • Compile documentation and schedules for external auditors, banking partners, and due diligence requests; formalize and manage the customer onboarding process; and maintain organized files with complete, up-to-date customer account data.
• Process Improvement & Reporting
  • Identify opportunities to automate reconciliations and streamline AR workflows, provide insights on aging trends, deduction activity, and customer payment behavior, and strengthen internal controls by flagging gaps or risks to accounting + finance leadership.

Role Requirements:
 

• 4+ years of hands-on AR experience in high-volume, complex environments (wholesale + dropship).
• 2+ years of experience with EDI invoicing, deduction research/disputes, and customer portal reconciliations.
• Advanced excel user passionate about reconciliations and process automation.
• ERP/middleware Experience: comfortable with ERP systems and middleware tools (Orderful, Mirakl, DSCO, retailer portals).

• Experience at a high-growth consumer brand or startup.
• Exposure to audit and compliance projects.
• Experience with Parabola or other automation tools.

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $75,000 - $90,000 - Final compensation will depend on a variety of factors determining the base pay at offer, including but not limited to: skills, qualifications, experience. This range provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role.
