The Opportunity

The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for sourcing packaging goods, inventory control, developing supplier relationships, coordinating inbound transportation and collaborating with the Accounts Payable team to service the Company’s largest strategic account.

How you will impact Smurfit Westrock Packaging Solutions:
* Oversee and coordinate purchasing matters with other departments, locations and divisions, including senior management
* Work closely with Accounts Payable team resolve invoicing issues and maintain payment terms with suppliers.
* Utilize strong decision making skills in managing multiple vendors and expediting product flow as required to prevent stock-out situations at warehouses.
* Work to optimize supply chain dealing with market shifts, supply-chain movement, and various product offerings.
* Assist with development materials management strategies for the specific groups and presents them to management.
* Monitor compliance with contracts, facilities meetings and discussions to resolve circumstances, and contacts other personnel when required.
* Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
* Partner with warehouse shipping and receiving for quality review and routing.
* Partner with inventory to conduct cycle count and enhance product knowledge.
* Other duties as assigned.

What you need t succeed:
* A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent education and experience preferred.
* High level of organizational skills and time management required.
* Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills, ability to engage multiple functions (technical, engineering, general management) within a business.
* Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook); and other applications as required.
