The Opportunity:
The right candidate will be responsible for implementing all content-based SEO strategies for clients. They can quickly understand and support initiatives for all on page activities such as content strategy, keyword strategy, content calendars and upper navigation optimization to increase rankings on all major search networks, that will contribute to the goals and success of client campaigns.

The Opportunity:
The right candidate will be responsible for implementing all content-based SEO strategies for clients. They can quickly understand and support initiatives for all on page activities such as content strategy, keyword strategy, content calendars and upper navigation optimization to increase rankings on all major search networks, that will contribute to the goals and success of client campaigns.
What you'll do:
- Perform keyword research in coordination with client business objectives to optimize existing content and uncover new opportunities
- Provide SEO analysis and recommendations in coordination with elements and structure of websites and web pages
- Provide recommendations and execute strategies for content development in coordination with SEO goals – general and keyword specific.
- Proactive monitoring and actioning of all SEO Metrics
- Perform ongoing keyword discovery, expansion and optimization
- Perform site level optimization: improving site structure, page construction, compelling SEO copywriting, updating metadata and all tags (h1, alt, etc.)
- Managing execution of SEO strategies, including keyword strategy implementation, upper navigation implementation and executing tactical strategies based on competitive analysis.
- Identify key editorial optimizations to improve SEO performance of core pages.
- Conversion optimization and testing, site inner linking and architecture strategy
- Performing competitive research and identify opportunities (content gap analysis)
- Presenting audits and reports to clients.
- Driving strategy to acquire backlinks that positively impact organic rankings
- In-depth analysis of potential inbound links to meet quality standards.
- Reaching out to bloggers and influencers via email, twitter, blog comments, Facebook and on the phone
- Competitor analysis - keep track and decode their link building strategies.
- Identifying and removing any potentially harmful backlinks that could negatively affect website’s ranking
- Identification of link spam issues
- Qualify websites for potential link opportunities
- Keep track of all activities including outreach efforts, links built, anchor text used, domain and page authorities of all acquired links
- Research and recommend Postmedia properties for link acquisition.
- 3+ years SEO/Organic search marketing experience.
- University or College diploma in related field
- An in-depth understanding of search engine behavior: what content search engines crawl and read, what practices to avoid, and what on-page changes will have the most impact based on current algorithms.
- Applied knowledge of keyword research, link building, on-page optimization, ranking factors, technical factors (display code JavaScript, CSS, html, xml sitemap), and SEO Audits.
- Applied knowledge of keyword analysis for products/services/industries.
- Analytical/problem solving skills and attention to details skills (quality).
- A working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and/or other programming languages.
- Staying up to date on current industry practices, news and algorithm updates.
- SEMrush, Ahrefs, Majestic, Screaming Frog experience.
- In depth knowledge of: Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Tag Manager, Google Merchant Centre and other third-party keyword research, SEO and optimization tools.
- Basic to intermediate technical SEO understanding & background.
- Familiarity with paid search marketing and how paid & organic search works together.
- Communication and presentation skills. Must be able to speak to clients.
