The Contracts Specialist will serve as the key negotiator on a variety of enterprise vendor contracts, including SaaS, software, products, and services agreements, to support the enterprise. The role is ideal for an experienced Contracts Specialist with 5-7 years of experience in managing a large volume of healthcare vendor agreements in a fast-paced environment from initiation of a request through execution. This role plays a crucial part in managing, negotiating, and optimizing contracts with third-party vendors, ensuring compliance, and strong vendor relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Manage vendor relationships and lead contract negotiations with healthcare vendors to secure favorable pricing, terms, and service-level agreements.
  • Collaborate with legal, compliance, finance, procurement, and IT to align contracts with enterprise goals and standards.
  • Draft, revise, and review contract language to minimize risk and ensure regulatory compliance (HIPAA, CMS, etc.).
  • Maintain accurate contract records and assist with renewal and termination processes.
  • Stay up to date on healthcare regulations, market trends, and pricing benchmarks to guide negotiation strategy.
  • Assist legal department with development and management of management service agreement, master service agreement, profromas, and other vendor contracting templates.
  • Develop contracting standards and positions.
  • Contribute to enterprise-wide legal initiatives and special projects, as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Legal Studies, or related field
  • 5-7 years of experience in contract negotiation or management, preferably in a healthcare setting
  • Strong understanding of healthcare compliance regulations and vendor operations
  • Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and interpersonal skills, and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced certification (e.g., Certified Professional Contract Manager - CPCM)
  • Experience with GPOs and strategic sourcing initiatives
