Mission of the Role

To interact with manufacturing companies, engage in consultative conversations, identify and satisfy need, and ultimately grow sales. To be the channel of choice between our suppliers and manufacturing companies as the technical expert who helps customers reach their goals and helps suppliers market products. Ultimate mission is to gain market share, meet and exceed annual goals, and best represent the suppliers we represent within a defined geographical territory.


Education/Experience

A degree in one of the following areas is preferred – Mechanical Engineering, Fluid Power Technology, Automation Robotics, Motion Control Technology, or Electrical Engineering - from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience in a related field is desired.


Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for maintaining and increasing market share in a respective territory with existing accounts and new prospects. This entails growing sales within customers we do business with today and winning new sales within new customers in the territory.
  • Responsible for learning focus products and having practical knowledge of all additional product lines.
  • Build and active manage prospects, proposals, projects, and products in a way that addresses a variety of different sales opportunities (Industries/technology/opportunity.)
  • Utilizes the Funnel process to identify, prioritize, gain, and maintain market share.
  • Updates Sales and Funnel activities on a weekly basis.
  • Proactively generates sales activity by scheduling three to five in-person sales calls per day.
  • Leads weekly Team Funnel meetings and actively engages in team selling.
  • Effectively utilizes supplier’s time during visits to maximize collective efforts.
  • Completes accurate expense reports monthly.
  • Completes Action Selling, and other sales training at Hartfiel, utilizing these learned skills and abilities daily.
  • Draws upon Product Specialist and other resources inside and outside Hartfiel as appropriate to support and move sales forward.
  • Draw upon critical thinking skills and consultative sales techniques to sell creative solutions, not simply components.
  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Follows all quality processes and procedures as established by Hartfiel Automation.
  • Operates within the intended framework of Hartfiel Automation’s mission, values, and vision statements.
