Summary
The NHL Stats & Information team provides support in the development and execution of editorial and statistical content for internal and external stakeholders (Rightsholders, Member Clubs, NHL Executives, fans and media) and maintains the accuracy of League statistics.
The Coordinator, In-Game Communications is an integral part of the NHL Stats & Information team, supporting the NHL Communications department during the in-game window. The main responsibilities of the Coordinator, In-Game Communications include running social media accounts as well as writing and editing editorial content.
This is a remote role with varying hours (often working until approximately 2 a.m. ET) and shifts (including weekends and holidays). The ability to work unsupervised is essential, as is a comfort with working on deadline. Only applicants eligible to work in Canada will be considered.

The ideal Coordinator, In-Game Communications is:

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Work as part of a dynamic in-game team with multiple responsibilities that include contributing to the League’s public relations accounts (@NHLPR) as well as writing and distributing editorial content and statistical research.
- Use pre-produced Photoshop templates to create graphics for the League’s social media platforms and NHL.com, while working in unison with members of the NHL Social Media team.
- Identify storylines for the NHL Morning Skate, a daily publication that pulls together the NHL’s top editorial moments and highlights in a succinct, compelling manner for media, Rightsholders, Member Clubs, League executives and fans.
- Assist with PR monitoring during the in-game window and notifying senior executives of stories and incidents that break of which they should be aware.
The ideal Coordinator, In-Game Communications is:

- Able to multi-task
- Prepared and able to work a varied schedule based around the League’s game schedule and seasonal calendar (this will almost exclusively be evenings, weekends and holidays)
- Know where to find basic statistics pertaining to NHL players and teams
- Be able to identify research opportunities while examining box scores, watching hockey broadcasts and following online conversation revolving around players and games
- Have a high comfort level working professionally in a virtual setting
- Successful completion of post-secondary education
- Experience running social media accounts and using publishing tools is essential
- Ability to use Adobe Photoshop is essential
- Experience working in an in-game or other live-entertainment environment is an asset
- Excellent command of written and spoken English
- Proficiency in French a plus
- Ability to anticipate and spot developing problems and alert the appropriate people
- Ability to react in real-time to changing priorities and storylines a must
- Advanced technical skills with computer databases, photo or video editing software a plus
