DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Schedule hospital outpatient services, including imaging, tests, therapy sessions, and other
- Confirm necessary authorizations for hospital outpatient procedures.
- Update demographic and insurance information in the hospital's system.
- Communicate appointment details and preparation instructions to patients.
- Handle patient inquiries, reschedule appointments, and manage cancellations professionally.
- Work closely with hospital departments, including radiology, cardiology, and surgical services, to
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize hospital scheduling software and electronic health records (EHR) efficiently.
Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) and hospital scheduling software.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in hospital outpatient scheduling, patient registration, or a similar role preferred.
