Requirements

What Makes This Role Unique

This isn’t your average in-house payroll role. As a TKG Assistant Payroll Specialist, you’ll work with multiple clients across different industries—giving you exposure to a wide variety of systems, processes, and compliance environments. You’ll become a trusted extension of our clients’ teams, delivering white glove service while growing your technical skills in a fast-paced, modern environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Process weekly, bi-weekly, and semi-monthly payrolls across multiple clients and states
  • Manage payroll changes: new hires, terminations, pay adjustments, garnishments, and tax updates
  • Respond to employee and client questions related to payroll, earnings, deductions, and compliance
  • Review and audit payroll reports to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Coordinate with internal and client teams on deadlines and deliverables
  • Stay current on payroll-related legislation and industry best practices
  • Learn and adapt to client-specific systems and internal tech tools
  • Support compliance with state-specific wage, labor, and tax laws

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years of payroll experience, preferably supporting multiple clients or locations
  • Strong attention to detail and understanding of payroll fundamentals
  • Tech-savvy mindset with the ability to learn and navigate various platforms (e.g., Paylocity, Paycor, Gusto, etc.)
  • Comfortable with client and employee-facing communication via email and video calls
  • A curious, adaptable learner who thrives in a remote environment
  • Familiarity with multi-state payroll compliance is a plus
  • Experience in HCM, HRIS, or related platforms is a bonus

Compensation & Flexibility

  • Pay Range: $43,680–$53,336 per year, based on experience and geographic location
  • Remote-First Culture with flexible hours and a collaborative team
  • Occasional in-person sessions for local candidates or special projects
  • Opportunities for growth as we scale client support offerings
