Role Summary: NearSource is hiring a Data Engineer to support the development and deployment of AI/ML systems for a global enterprise in the software industry. This role is focused on building high-quality data pipelines and infrastructure to power scalable machine learning solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain scalable data pipelines for ML model training, inference, and analytics
- Build and optimize ETL/ELT workflows across diverse data sources
- Prepare and version datasets for ML training and evaluation
- Contribute to data infrastructure on AWS, including S3, Glue, Redshift, and Athena
- Implement and monitor data quality, governance, and observability practices
- Automate workflows using orchestration tools like Airflow or AWS Step Functions
- Collaborate with ML engineers, product managers, and analytics teams to define data schemas and delivery mechanisms
- Optimize performance for high-throughput, low-latency ML systems
- Document pipelines and drive engineering best practices across ML infrastructure
- 2 - 4 years of experience in data engineering, with exposure to ML or AI applications
- Proficient in Python and SQL with working knowledge of Spark or PySpark
- Experience with AWS services such as S3, Glue, Redshift, Athena, Lambda, and Step Functions
- Hands-on with data orchestration tools like Airflow or similar
- Familiarity with version control and CI/CD tools like Git and Jenkins
- Strong understanding of data lifecycle, versioning, and governance for ML systems
- Experience using data notebook environments such as Jupyter, EMR Notebooks, or Apache Zeppelin
- Exposure to ML Ops workflows and concepts like retraining pipelines or feature stores
- Familiarity with Delta Lake, Feast, or data lake house architectures
- Understanding of containerization (e.g., Docker) or infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform)
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent practical experience will be considered.
