The Vice President of Corporate Business Development is responsible for the development and execution of the Corporate Business Development Strategy. This will provide a significant and unique opportunity to shape and influence the growth of Immunocore.
The Vice President, Corporate Business Development, must have strong credibility within the biotech and pharmaceutical industry as a business development leader and be able to demonstrate in-depth knowledge, experience, and success in ‘deal-making’ and the ability to drive growth in the sector.

Key Responsibilities:
- Own and execute the company’s business development strategy.
- Develop and present compelling strategic, scientific, and economic rationale for pursuing (and not pursuing) strategic opportunities, including but not limited to in-licensing, out-licensing, commercial partnering, and M&A transactions.
- Collaborate with R&D, search and evaluation, commercial, finance, and other functions to identify and evaluate BD opportunities.
- Lead negotiations and structure deals to maximize value for the company.
- Oversee due diligence processes, ensuring cross-functional reviews are completed and incorporated into leadership reviews.
- Monitor and analyze emerging technologies, market trends, macroeconomic factors, and regulatory developments that may impact the company's strategy and associated BD priorities.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with external stakeholders including academic institutions, pharmaceutical and biotech companies, and technology providers.
- Provide insights and recommendations to executive management based on market intelligence.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, networking events, and meetings with potential partners.
- Lead a small team to accomplish the above responsibilities.
- This role will supervise a small team of business development professionals.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in science, finance, business administration, or related field;
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry as a business development professional and/or investment banker.
- Deal sheet that demonstrates a successful track record of identifying, evaluating, structuring, negotiating, and executing deals.
- Strong credibility within the biotech and pharmaceutical industry as a business development leader.
- Strong learning agility and ability to comprehend and communicate complex science.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Strong financial and business acumen.
- Master of Business Administration or advanced science degree (PhD or MD);
- Experience in oncology, immunology and/or infectious diseases.
- This role reports directly to the CFO and Head of Corporate Development.
- Travel is required.
