Job Description

THIS IS A CONTRACT TO HIRE OPPORTUNITY!

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineering Manager with strong expertise in Snowflake to lead our data engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Snowflake architecture, design, implementation, and optimization to drive our data warehouse initiatives. The Data Engineering Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the team, managing and mentoring team members, and ensuring the successful delivery of data engineering projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the data engineering team in the design, development, and maintenance of our Snowflake data warehouse
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data requirements and ensure the accuracy and completeness of data pipelines
  • Develop and implement best practices for Snowflake architecture, data modeling, and ETL processes
  • Work with data analysts and business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into technical requirements
  • Manage the team's resources, including hiring, training, and performance management
  • Continuously evaluate and improve our data engineering processes, tools, and technologies
  • Ensure compliance with data security and privacy regulations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • At least 8 years of experience in data engineering, with a minimum of 2 years' experience in Snowflake data platform and data warehouse
  • 4 years of Experience managing a team of data engineers.
  • Strong knowledge of Snowflake architecture, design, and optimization techniques
  • Experience leading a team of data engineers and managing project timelines
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Proficient in SQL, Python, and other programming languages.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Familiarity with data security and privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Snowflake Certification(s)
  • Experience with cloud-based data warehousing solutions, such as AWS Redshift or Google BigQuery
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies
  • Exposure to Snowflake Cortex and Iceberg
