The Clinical Resource Director (CRD) serves as a strategic leader within the Ovation Spend Management business line, responsible for aligning clinical and supply chain operations to enhance patient care, drive cost savings, and improve resource utilization. This role bridges the gap between clinical teams and the supply chain by evaluating clinical product usage, implementing evidence-based practices, and collaborating with physicians, nursing staff, and supply chain teams.

Summary:
The Clinical Resource Director (CRD) serves as a strategic leader within the Ovation Spend Management business line, responsible for aligning clinical and supply chain operations to enhance patient care, drive cost savings, and improve resource utilization. This role bridges the gap between clinical teams and the supply chain by evaluating clinical product usage, implementing evidence-based practices, and collaborating with physicians, nursing staff, and supply chain teams.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead efforts to optimize clinical resource use across member hospitals while maintaining high standards of patient care.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and supply chain personnel to select appropriate medical products and equipment.
- Analyze utilization patterns, clinical outcomes, and financial data to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Serve as a liaison between clinical and supply chain teams to promote evidence-based product selection.
- Participate in value analysis committees and product standardization initiatives.
- Monitor compliance with formulary and contract agreements.
- Develop and implement education and training programs for clinical staff on appropriate product usage.
- Evaluate new technology and product requests for clinical efficacy and cost-effectiveness.
- Provide regular reporting on supply cost metrics, trends, and outcomes to senior leadership.
- Support quality improvement and patient safety initiatives as they relate to resource use.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related clinical field required.
- Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in a hospital setting.
- 2+ years in a leadership, quality improvement, or clinical resource management role preferred.
- Active RN license required.
- Certification in Healthcare Supply Chain, Lean Six Sigma, or Value Analysis preferred.
- Strong clinical knowledge and understanding of hospital operations.
- Analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex clinical and financial data.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Project management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and electronic health records (EHRs).
- Reliable high-speed internet connection is required for all remote/hybrid positions.
- Must have access to stable Wi-Fi with sufficient bandwidth to support video conferencing, cloud-based tools, and other online work-related activities.
- A HIPAA-compliant work environment is required, including a secure workspace free from unauthorized access or interruptions, no use of public Wi-Fi unless connected through a secure company-provided VPN, and compliance with all applicable HIPAA privacy and security regulations.
