The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join our IT Team. Reporting directly to the Project Management Director, you will play a pivotal role in driving business transformation initiatives, optimizing processes, and supporting the delivery of strategic projects across Nova Mutual!

Key Responsibilities

  • Requirements Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document business and functional requirements.
  • Process Improvement: Assess existing business processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and recommend solutions that drive efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Project Support: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met on time and within scope.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze data to support business cases, identify trends, and inform decision-making.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Assisting with regulatory reporting. Prepare clear and concise business requirements documents, process maps, and user stories.
  • Testing & Implementation: Support user acceptance testing and facilitate the successful implementation of new processes and systems.
  • IT Support: Supporting and resolving the Nova Mutual IT Helpdesk inquiries.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience, ideally in a Business Analyst role
  • Relevant College or University education in a related field such as Business and Information Systems.
  • Prior experience in Insurance or financial services is considered an asset
  • Experience with Cognition+ Insurance System and proficiency with business analysis tools (e.g., Visio, MS Office Suite) is a valued advantage.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate complex business needs into actionable solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
