Job Description:
The Chief of Staff serves as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to the President and is responsible for driving high-impact decision making, operational execution and organizational alignment. This role creates capacity for the President, enabling the “Office of the President” to focus on organizational objectives (“OKRs”) and key results.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Support the President in the development and execution of strategic initiatives across the Enterprise
- Monitor progress on OKRs and key performance indicators and develop at a glance executive summaries with real time status
- Collaborate with markets and departments to remove roadblocks and improve cross-functional communication
- Manage priorities, decision tracking and follow up on behalf of Office of the President
- Serve as a liaison between President and key stakeholders (internal and external) and helping to create bandwidth for critical decision making
- Support Executive committee agenda planning and execution
- Help with Board agenda and content preparation, supporting other executives as needed on key topics, analytics and assimilation
- Provide insight and recommendations based on data, stakeholder input and demonstrated best practices
- Lead cross-functional projects and monitor alignment across markets and departments
- Manage follow-up from leadership meetings and oversee accountability
- Draft executive-level communications, presentations and briefing materials
- Serve as President’s proxy in meetings as appropriate
- Plan and facilitate leadership meetings, board briefings and retreats
- Develop agendas, track outcomes and drive follow-through
- Always maintain discretion and confidentiality
- Demonstrates behaviors and actions that promote positive and professional interactions and relationships across the Enterprise
- Observe and advise President on internal dynamics, misalignment and engagement opportunities
- Identify areas for organizational improvement and support implementation efforts
- Collaborates with administrative assistant to optimize the President’s calendar, travel schedule and personal priorities
- Demonstrates strong writing, communication and presentation skills serving as editor and proof-reader on all communication from “Office of the President”
Minimum of 3 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare operations.
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare landscape and industry trends, especially value-based medicine
- Advanced degree in clinical medicine and/or healthcare management preferred
- Proven track-record of successfully starting and optimizing clinical and business initiatives
- Two years of experience with strategic consulting experience in a top-tier consulting firm and/or private equity preferred
- Strong business acumen with broad understanding of all aspects of business, including care delivery models, quality/risk-based incentives, network management
- Ability to work strategically and collaboratively across departments and with stakeholders at various levels.
- Exceptional project management, analytics skill set and multi-tasking ability. Strategic planning and execution skills honed through exposure to sound technology, analytical rigor, and operational focus.
- Self-motivation with excellent communication, problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with ability to navigate matrix relationships with diplomacy and resourcefulness.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing healthcare landscapes
- Ability to demonstrate the value of collaboration, communication, service, transparency, and teamwork
- Results-oriented and persistent in achieving success with an inspiring vision of the future
- A highly personable, approachable leader who can promote and maintain the momentum and enthusiasm to drive quality, performance, and service excellence. It will be critical that they have experience and a high degree of comfort working within a highly matrixed environment
- Ability to analyze strengths and areas of opportunity and lead cogent planning with both individuals and groups in developing and implementing successful outcomes
