The ideal candidate will have experience managing payroll for a remote workforce spread across multiple states in the United States. This function goes beyond simple number crunching; it involves establishing credibility, monitoring compliance, and making sure that all team members have positive financial experiences.
Things You Must Do
Manage the entire payroll cycle for workers in different US states
Preserve our impeccable record of paying all applicable federal, state, and municipal taxes.
Keep track of new recruits, offboarding, salary changes, system updates, and absences.
Act as a patient and humorous point of contact for any payroll-related inquiries
Make ensuring that audits, general ledgers, and reports are accurate by working with HR and finance.
We are big fans of efficiency, automation, and new ideas, so please point out problems and propose remedies.
Keep abreast on developments in payroll trends, laws, and industry best practices.
Things You Carry
Five years or more of payroll experience in the United States; proficiency managing teams across many states
Thorough familiarity with the tax, wage, and compliance regulations of the United States
Expertise working with Gusto, ADP, Paylocity, or a comparable platform
Pays close attention to detail; mistakes are impossible while you're in charge.
Mastery of spreadsheet programs (you adore formulas)
Superb interpersonal and communication abilities; you're an expert when it comes to explaining net pay.
Able to work autonomously in a completely distant setting
