About The Role

As a Credentialing Associate, you will play a vital role in helping mental health providers get credentialed with insurance payors—especially Medicare and commercial plans—so they can begin delivering care quickly and effectively. You’ll serve as a key point of contact for both providers and payors, managing application workflows, conducting primary source verification, and ensuring accurate provider information in internal and external systems like CAQH.

This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, experience in healthcare credentialing, and a service mindset rooted in operational excellence.

What You'll Do

  • Act as the credentialing point of contact for assigned providers and insurance payors, including Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and commercial plans.
  • Prepare, submit, and track credentialing applications using systems such as PECOS, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Perform primary source verification for licenses, certifications, and other required credentials.
  • Assist providers with their CAQH profiles to ensure all required information is present for their credentialing application
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve provider or payor issues and remove barriers to credentialing.
  • Maintain up-to-date records for provider demographics, licensure, and payor participation status.
  • Communicate clearly with providers and partners via phone, email, and text throughout the credentialing process.
  • Partner with external payors to proactively address delays or missing information.

What does success look like?

  • Week 1: Gain a working knowledge of our credentialing process, key payor relationships, and tools like CAQH and PECOS.
  • Month 1: Submit applications and handle assigned payors and providers with increasing independence. Process provider files on your own with little oversight.
  • Month 2: Meet all turnaround time and accuracy goals for credentialing tasks.

Who You Are

  • Exceptionally detail-oriented with a structured and organized approach to work.
  • Strong written and verbal communicator with a service-first attitude.
  • Motivated to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working across multiple systems and communication platforms.
  • Highly accountable and results-driven with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Preferred experience:
    • Credentialing for Medicare providers, including use of PECOS
    • Hands-on experience with primary source verification
