This position also supports the Benefits team by helping with employee benefits programs. These include health, disability, leave of absence (LOA), and 401(k) plans. The Benefits Analyst ensures compliance, supports employee questions, and helps improve processes. This work enhances the employee experience and operational efficiency.

Pay Range
$64,600.00 - $103,500.00 per year

The Benefits Analyst ensures compliance, supports employee questions, and helps improve processes. This work enhances the employee experience and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities And Qualifications
- Assist in the day-to-day administration of health, disability, time-off and 401(k) programs, including but not limited to:
- Support the Benefits team in coordinating with third-party administrators for claims and case management.
- Act as point of contact for escalated issues for employee and manager inquiries regarding benefits, LOA, and 401(k) policies.
- Help maintain accurate records and documentation for compliance and reporting purposes.
- Participate in the development and distribution of employee communications related to benefits.
- Assist in monitoring program usage and preparing basic reports and metrics.
- Collaborate with HR team members to ensure consistent application of benefits policies across the organization.
- Support process improvement initiatives and contribute to project tasks as assigned.
- Assist in examining, assessing, and designing company programs for health, welfare, 401(k), life and disability insurance, leave, and time off plans.
- Provides oversight for leave, health, and welfare policy compliance. Assures consistent policy application and program limitations. Works closely with the Benefits team to ensure REI programs are followed properly and consistently across the organization.
- Partner closely with Sr. Benefits Analysts and HR Employee Services and Operations teams. Provide recommendations on program administration, program design changes, vendor management issues, and Service Level Agreements.
- Implement process improvement activities with the Sr. Benefits Analysts, Employee Services, and Operations. Provide feedback on employee and management communications, including intranet, policies, and third-party communications.
- May act as a project manager to manage various projects and process improvement initiatives leading to improved efficiencies.
- Over three years of current benefits experience in health, welfare, leave of absence, time off, 401(k), and medical insurance. Experience includes implementing and evaluating plans.
- 3+ years of demonstrated current working knowledge of ERISA laws, ACA, HSA, HIPAA, COBRA, and Section 125 Plans
- Has over 3 years of experience using critical skills to assess program effectiveness. Supports the benefit program’s ongoing operation, effectiveness, and improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree in related area and/or equivalent experience.
- Capability in using data analysis, data management and reporting tools including Excel, PowerPoint, and HRIS report writing tools.
- Proficiency with MS Access, Excel, and Word
- Effective communication skills and ability to partner with all levels of employees.
- Demonstrated experience administration and communication with union health plans.
