About The Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Azure Application Infrastructure Engineer at the Architect level to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a remote opportunity exclusively for candidates based in Canada. As a key technology leader, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud-native infrastructure solutions on Microsoft Azure to support enterprise-grade applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end architecture and infrastructure design for scalable and secure Azure-based applications.
  • Collaborate with development, DevOps, and security teams to define infrastructure strategy and standards.
  • Design Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines, automation, and monitoring frameworks aligned with Azure best practices.
  • Provide expertise in networking, identity management, scalability, performance tuning, and disaster recovery on Azure.
  • Evaluate and recommend modern cloud-native technologies to enhance system reliability and performance.
  • Support compliance, governance, and cost optimization across the Azure environment.
  • Serve as a thought leader and mentor for junior engineers and cross-functional teams.

Required Qualifications

  • 1218 years of overall IT experience with 6+ years specifically in Azure infrastructure and architecture.
  • Deep knowledge of Azure services, including App Services, AKS, Azure Functions, Azure Storage, Virtual Network, Azure Monitor, and Key Vault.
  • Expertise in designing and deploying enterprise applications in Azure using well-architected frameworks.
  • Strong experience with scripting and automation (PowerShell, Azure CLI, Python).
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools like Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.
  • Solid understanding of Azure security, identity, RBAC, policies, and governance frameworks.
  • Azure certifications such as AZ-305 (Azure Solutions Architect Expert) or AZ-400 (DevOps Engineer Expert) preferred.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
