The Role: 

We’re seeking entrepreneurial, relationship-driven Business Development Contractors to help grow our impact by bringing new partners into our ecosystem. This is a commission-based, independent contractor role ideal for self-starters who thrive in fast-paced, flexible environments. You’ll work alongside our CEO and Head of Sales & Partnerships, with the freedom to operate independently and focus on the industries or regions where you already have a strong network. Each candidate will be asked to select the industries and regions that they specialize in during the applications process.

Powered by Canada's Forest Trust Corporation, the Cool Climate Club grows Smart Forests, provides a turnkey ESG platform to share impact, and offers innovative co-branding opportunities to showcase and amplify retailers' sustainability efforts.


What You'll Do

  • Generate new leads and build partnerships across your assigned industry or territory
  • Present and pitch our sustainability solutions and technology to prospective clients
  • Manage your pipeline and report progress to our leadership team
  • Customize outreach and partnership approaches based on market trends and client goals
  • Represent the brand at relevant events or networking opportunities (virtual and in-person)
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a smooth client onboarding experience


You’ll be a great fit if you:

  • Are a natural connector with a strong existing network in a specific industry or region
  • Have experience in B2B sales, business development, partnerships, or marketing
  • Thrive working independently, but are also open to guidance and support
  • Are driven by purpose and eager to contribute to climate impact
  • Are comfortable working on commission and motivated by performance-based rewards
  • Are organized, responsive, and confident in communicating with senior decision-makers


Requirements

  • Proven experience in a client-facing sales or partnerships role
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage your own time and prioritize effectively
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace, slack, and basic sales reporting tools
  • Availability to commit part-time or full-time based on your capacity
