We are currently seeking a highly organized and customer service-oriented Patient Services Representative to join our team. As part of the care team, you will perform a variety of functions such as greeting patients, patient registration, insurance coverage and eligibility verification, scheduling, and telephone management.

Essential Functions - Principal Duties And Responsibilities
Identifies accepted insurance plans and those requiring referrals.
Handles any system red flags as they are encountered.
Schedules new or follow-up appointments in a courteous and professional manner in accordance with performance standards.
Responds to requests from patients, family members, physicians and staff in a courteous and professional manner in accordance with performance standards.
Electronic Health Record Documentation
Accesses EHR to communicate to clinical staff members and/or physicians
Manages EHR in-basket(s), work queues and schedule templates as assigned in accordance with performance standards.
All other duties as assigned including department-specific functions and responsibilities:
Performs other duties as assigned and participates in organization projects as assigned.
Adheres to safety, HIPAA and compliance policies.
Qualifications & Skills
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum 1 year of customer service experience in a medical office, insurance, call center or client services environment.
Experience With Scheduling Appointments
Must be flexible and have the ability to multi task.
Proficient in computers using MS Office applications and with and EHR (preferably Epic)
Ability to collaborate across departments and build effective relationships with internal and external customers to achieve goals.
Possession of strong problem solving skills and sound judgment.
Possession of strong organizational skills.
Strong verbal/written communication and listening skills; including excellent interpersonal skills and telephone communication.
Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
Deals with confidential information and/or issues using discretion and judgment.
Hours: Monday - Friday
This is a remote position. WE ARE ONLY CONSIDERING APPLICANTS OUTSIDE OF SAN FRANCISCO. This position is ideal for applicants in East Bay, South Bay, North Bay, and applicants out of state in Nebraska.
