As a Learning Associate at Cengage, you will play a pivotal role in driving our sales efforts and contributing to our mission of transforming lives through learning. What You'll Do Here

  • Plan, coordinate, and prioritize sales strategies to achieve established sales targets
  • Develop and maintain a Territory Plan for the assigned open territories applying sales tools and resources including the sales force CRM (Salesforce).
  • Work with other sales personnel, including Account Executives, Regional Sales Managers, and the Digital Solutions team, to achieve open territory and regional sales goals.
  • Participate in the planning process to develop fully informed Region Business Plans to prioritize and improve the use of team resources.
  • Develop and follow through on daily plans to optimize sales potential within each open territory.
  • Represent and promote Cengage Learning products to all customers to achieve or exceed sales targets
  • Prospect, qualify, and close sales by phone, email contact, and technology demonstrations.
  • Apply the Digital Selling Journey framework to advance sales calls and maintain relationships with key decision makers.
  • Support the sales team in growth efforts, including converting print sales to digital, eBook to Online Learning platforms, and bringing to bear knowledge of automated marketing.
  • Exhibit proficient use of technology communication tools.
  • Update and maintain our CRM (Salesforce).
  • Report to the Director of Sales as required.
  • Fulfill team support roles as required.
  • Communicate & coordinate effectively as required with other sales personnel.

  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Comfortable applying technology for performing routine job tasks and for product demonstration purposes.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in PC and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Power BI.
  • A university degree or equivalent experience is required.

Preferred

  • At least two (2) years of successful sales (or customer interaction) experience.
  • Direct sales or marketing experience.
  • Prior publishing sales experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications like Excel and Power BI.
  • Knowledge of automated marketing.

The full base pay range has been provided for this position. Individual base pay will vary based on work schedule, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location. Sales roles often incorporate a significant incentive compensation program beyond this base pay range.

$50,000.00 - $60,000.00 CAD
