Responsibilities:


  • The Specialist will provide the technical expertise to the productions and operations groups in evaluating and planning events.
  • Coordinate remote surveys, studio installations and maintenance.
  • Produce live ENG shoots on site while working with the crew, control room and transmission.
  • Act as the Technical Manager or Operations Producer on site for various remote productions.
  • Designs CAD / Visio drawings to depict the technical signal flow of a remote television broadcasts.
  • Track location expenses and budgets. Advise production and Operations of costs and options as situations arise.
  • Maintains up to date knowledge of the latest progress in technical innovation.
  • Knowledge of broadcasting technology for camera systems, video, audio, RF and lighting.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with multiple departments and manage people effectively.
  • Procure and deploy technology for home studios, field reporters, bureau reporters and bureau producers. Place orders for equipment and supplies as requested. (i.e transmission devices, backdrops, lighting, studio equipment)
  • Troubleshoot technology issues in the field and for home studios.
  • Arrange shipping between vendors and remote locations.
  • Must be willing to take calls after hours and work on nights and weekends, when needed.
  • Ability to balance the day-to-day workload and challenges with a positive attitude!
  • Willingness and ability to travel to domestic & International work sites on short notice.


Preferred Qualification:


  • Minimum 7+ years of broadcast newsgathering experience, primarily as a field technician
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to liaise with high level executives and talent.
  • Ability to work harmoniously and proactively with production teams of diverse work cultures.
  • Computer skills with proficiency in MAC and Windows-based applications, SmartSheets, Excel, Bomgar/Beyond Trust.


Required Education:


  • High School Diploma


Preferred Education:


  • Bachelors Degree


The hiring range for this remote position is $133,800 to $183,900 per year, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
