Optum Insight is seeking a service-oriented Analyst, Clinical Operations to facilitate the expansion of clinical insights and adoption of data-driven decision making to support clinical optimization within client health systems. You will be part of a team that works closely with operational leaders to understand the drivers of clinical variation and identify opportunities to improve.

Primary Responsibilities
- Create analytical insights to support clinical effectiveness, quality improvement, operational performance, and other related areas
- Analyze and interpret clinical data to identify trends and drivers of variation, and present findings to key stakeholders
- Collaborate with operational leaders to understand their business and provide insights to support decision-making
- Ensure effective documentation processes throughout all the entire analytical lifecycle
- Provide ongoing training and guidance to all relevant levels of leadership in order to facilitate the adoption of analytics
- Act as a subject matter expert in one of the following areas: clinical variation reduction, hospital operations, government programs, pharmacy data
- Create processes and accountability for the continuous rationalization of the clinical analytics portfolio
- Partner with analytical platform teams to ensure accuracy and efficiency in aggregation and alignment of foundational data assets needed to power clinical analytics
- Partner with other subject matter domain leaders to infuse insights into the decision-making process for operational, population health, value-based care, finance, and other health system analytics focus areas
- Coordinate with Care Transformation team to document requirements and deliver service level agreement and operational analytics
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of healthcare experience with knowledge and background in health system analytics
- 2+ years of experience with operational processes and clinical decision making in the various providers within a health care delivery system (e.g., hospitals, medical groups, post-acute care organizations, physician practices, ambulatory surgical centers, etc.)
- 2+ years of experience managing analytics projects or initiatives with minimal guidance
- 1+ years of experience guiding and developing junior team members
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other basic analytical tools
- Certifications in any of the following: Analytics, Public Health, Health Administration, Business, Biological Science, or Data Science
- Experience with Epic or Cerner data structures and reporting interfaces
- Experience in clinically focused consulting engagements or large internal healthcare projects/programs for health care delivery systems
- Experience and credibility interacting with all levels of leadership
- Knowledge of key health management related areas, e.g. network management, value-based care, population health, quality, compliance, provider engagement, etc.
- Proficiency in using SQL for data analysis
- Proven solid analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to communicate complex concepts verbally and in writing, taking audience into consideration
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proven solid attention to detail and accuracy
