Job Summary
As a Bilingual Construction Project Manager, you'll be at the heart of delivering capital projects that directly impact animal care across Canada. This is your opportunity to lead meaningful construction projects from idea to execution, in a fast-paced, collaborative, and values-driven environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Own the full lifecycle of capital construction projects, from pre-construction to final close-out.
- Lead and coordinate external partners: General Contractors, consultants, vendors, and other service providers.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Real Estate, Operations, Finance, Procurement, and Marketing to ensure transparency, alignment, and timely delivery.
- Manage project logistics including permitting, tendering, contract execution, scope definition, timelines, and budgets.
- Oversee invoicing and reporting, Track budgets, monitor invoices, and ensure cost-effective project delivery
- Conduct site visits and ensure quality assurance during key project milestones (possession, turnover, deficiencies).
- Support real estate deals with technical expertise and construction insights on lease agreements and requirements.
- Champion infrastructure planning by recommending capital improvements aligned with strategic objectives.
- Partner with Facilities & Maintenance teams on major restorations or urgent structural projects.
- Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Architectural Engineering, or a related field (PMP certification is an asset).
- Bilingual (English & French) – essential for cross-country coordination.
- Travel required
- Remote or Hybrid depending on your location
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing commercial or retail construction projects.
- Proven ability to juggle multiple projects in different phases with precision and accountability.
- Excellent knowledge of local/national building codes, construction standards, and permitting processes.
- Hands-on experience with FF&E procurement, contract negotiations, and vendor oversight.
- Exceptional organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- A customer-focused mindset and strong collaborative instincts.
- Tech-savvy: Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
