Support a startup with the first mindfulness mobile app dedicated to supporting the mental health impact of climate change

Genjo App is the first mindfulness mobile app dedicated to supporting the mental health impact of climate change.

Over half the global population reports experiencing mental health effects from climate change. Eco-anxiety, climate grief, and feelings of helplessness are on the rise—especially among young people—yet few mental health solutions are designed specifically for these complex emotional experiences. The climate crisis is not only an environmental emergency but also a psychological one, and we need tools to help people cope in healthy, grounded ways.

Genjo is a mobile app that helps individuals manage the emotional toll of climate change through mindfulness, self-compassion, and guided emotional resilience practices. Our content is inspired by evidence-based therapeutic techniques like RAIN (Recognize, Allow, Investigate, Nurture), somatic awareness, and nonviolent communication, but delivered in short, accessible formats designed for moments of overwhelm. We focus on nurturing calm, clarity, and care—not toxic positivity or empty reassurance.

Our approach is unique because we don’t tell users to simply take action or “stay hopeful.” Instead, we help them meet their emotions with curiosity and compassion, offering daily reflections, micro-practices, and guided meditations grounded in emotional literacy and climate-aware psychology. We’ve designed the app to be as easy as opening a window for fresh air—a moment of calm in the storm.

Role (Volunteer): Graphic Designer.

Role Description: Genjo is a mindfulness app designed to support individuals experiencing eco-anxiety and climate distress. Our mission is to provide simple yet powerful practices that help users process complex climate emotions while building emotional resilience.

Join Genjo in crafting visual experiences that support individuals navigating climate-related emotions. As a volunteer graphic designer with Genjo, you will:

  • Design in-app graphics indfulness exercises, emotion tracking, and climate-related reflections.
  • Develop visual assets for social media platforms, newsletters, and partnership materials.
  • Maintain consistency in branding across all external channels.
  • Ideal Skills:
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and/or similar design software.
  • Bonus: Understanding of UI/UX Principles or desire to learn

If you're passionate about designing and mental well-being in the face of climate challenges, we'd love to hear from you.
