This role involves full-cycle scheduling and dispatch planning for corporate-employed drivers, ensuring efficient and compliant movement of buildings. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and serve a vital role between drivers, dealers, and customers. Key Responsibilities
- Regional Planning: Oversee dispatch operations within a designated regional area. Manage a dedicated group of drivers by creating and maintaining their full work schedules.
- Logistics Coordination: Ensure timely and accurate dispatch of deliveries. Coordinate route planning, job assignments, and logistics solutions to maximize efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Work Distribution: Allocate transportation tasks between corporate drivers and independent contractors based on availability, location, and load requirements.
- Permits and Compliance: Secure necessary permits for transportation operations and ensure compliance with regional and federal regulations.
- Communication Management: Act as a point of contact for dealers, drivers, and customers. Resolve scheduling conflicts, provide delivery updates, and maintain excellent working relationships across all parties.
- Technology Use: Utilize dispatching and logistics software, email, and phone communication tools to manage daily tasks effectively.
- High School Diploma required; some college preferred
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- High proficiency with computer systems
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic environment
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work under pressure and handle stressful situations
- Experience managing or coordinating with independent contractors is a plus
- Knowledge of transportation permits and regulatory requirements preferred (training available)
- Team player with outstanding interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations (can be trained)
