She:kon, my name is Dr. Karhinéhtha’ Cortney Clark and I am Kanienkehaka and Haudenosaunee from Wahta Mohawk Territory. My name in Kanienkeha/Mohawk language means she who leads the trees/forest. Boozhoo, Aniin, Greetings! My name is Sarah Williams. I’m Anishnaabe from Curve Lake First Nations in Southern Ontario, where my three siblings and I were born and raised. Curve Lake is Michi-Saagiig Anishnaabeg territory, and I am connected to this land through my father. Through my mother, I am also Anishnaabe from Trout Lake (Namegosibii) in Northwestern, Ontario. Namegosibii Anishinaabeg were forced out of their homelands in Treaty 3 territory and are now band members of Lac Seul First Nation. My pronouns are she/her. I have the honour and privilege of working at the CMA as the Strategic Advisor for Indigenous Health on the Indigenous health team. I work remotely as I am based in Victoria, British Columbia (BC), where I live with my husband and two stepdaughters on the Coast Salish territory of the Lekwungen people.

I am a proud member of the Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg through my parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. Kitigan Zibi is located at the confluence of the Kiniw Zibi (Eagle River) and the Tenagaadino Zibi (Gatineau River) near the town of Maniwaki, Quebec. I can trace my lineage to the founder of my community, Chief Antoine Pakinawatik. I currently live and work remotely from home which is on the unceded traditional territory of my ancestors, the Algonquin Anishinabeg.
