Position Overview
As a Project Associate, you will support and collaborate with Project Managers and Principals on a variety of restoration, capital planning and new construction projects. You will engage in all aspects of our work, from investigation and design to construction review and administration, gaining hands-on experience and contributing to the success of our projects.

We are currently seeking a motivated and talented Junior Engineer (CEP) to join our Montreal team as a Project Associate. This role offers the opportunity to grow and develop alongside experienced professionals while contributing to meaningful projects.
Position Overview
As a Project Associate, you will support and collaborate with Project Managers and Principals on a variety of restoration, capital planning and new construction projects. You will engage in all aspects of our work, from investigation and design to construction review and administration, gaining hands-on experience and contributing to the success of our projects.
General Responsibilities

- Marketing: Represent Sense Engineering professionally, building positive relationships with clients, architects, contractors, and suppliers.
- Knowledge Development: Enhance your understanding of standards, building codes, and industry practices while sharing insights and lessons learned with the team.
- Service Delivery: Provide accurate, organized, and timely information to support the team and maintain schedules.
- Proposals: Assist in developing scopes of work and fee proposals based on client needs.
- Investigations/Evaluations: Plan and perform site investigations, which may involve accessing attics, crawl spaces, or rooftops, and prepare detailed evaluation reports.
- Design: Draft scopes of work, specifications, and design drawings for restoration projects. Conduct building enclosure related design reviews for new construction projects.
- Tendering: Coordinate bid processes, prepare addenda, and evaluate contractor submissions.
- Construction Review: Conduct site visits to monitor construction quality and progress, document findings, and provide direction as needed.
- Contract Administration: Assist with contract preparation, invoice reviews, and certification of completion.
- Project Management: Attend site meetings, provide updates to clients, and monitor project budgets and schedules.
- Capital Planning: Conduct reserve fund studies, building condition assessments, capital plans, performance audits and warranty reviews for condominiums, multi-residential, institutional, commercial, retail and industrial properties.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil / Structural Engineering, Building Science, Architectural Science or Applied Science; or Advanced Diploma in Architectural Technology or Civil Engineering Technology
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Interest in building envelope related new construction, restoration and capital planning.
