Job Description Summary
Are you a seasoned marketing specialist with a minimum of 5 years’ experience? Have you managed tradeshows and conferences? Are you data driven? Does developing a lead generation strategy through events and project execution tickle your fancy?
We are looking for a Marketing & Events Specialist who is a highly organized, self-starter, and is data driven and strategic at executing a variety of projects and events and measuring the success of these events through effective and well-defined KPI’s. This role reports to the Marketing Manager, collaborating with the Sales Director and sales teams, to put together a successful events strategy.
The ideal candidate must possess exceptional communication skills to effectively engage with internal and external vendors and stakeholders. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and executing tradeshows and events but will also spend approximately half their time assisting with Marketing campaigns – brainstorming and planning, reporting, pulling data for target lists, and working with the business development team on demand generation projects. As a result, a diversity in marketing skills is required.
The Marketing & Events Specialist is therefore a generalist role, with a special focus on events.

Responsibilities
- Develop an effective tradeshow and event strategy by working with management and the sales team to identify target tradeshows, sponsorships, and leverage industry partnerships
- Perform lead management via post-show follow-ups, including email and BDR call campaigns.
- Work closely with the Marketing Manager and the rest of the marketing team to develop strategic marketing campaigns spanning multiple channels including email, direct mail, call lists, webinars, etc.
- Promote tradeshow and industry events, organize sponsored activities, and coordinate marketing and publicity materials for events.
- Organize all event logistics in advance/remotely, including product shipments, registrations, and booth install and dismantle – minimal travel will be required.
- Work with the business development team and sales team to ensure leads are effectively being followed up on.
- Regularly lead event-planning meetings with key stakeholders to ensure alignment throughout the planning process.
- Build event budgets, track expenses and investment throughout the process. Reconcile post-event to reflect actual costs including submitting invoices for payment, manage credit card postings for reconciliation along with entering data into marketing budget, accruals, etc.
- Assist with webinar execution, content creation for pre and post-event communications and other marketing campaigns.
- Organize projects effectively using the team’s collaboration tool, Wrike.
- 5+ years in a marketing generalist or events role.
- Demonstrated ability to develop a tradeshow strategy to drive leads with events.
- Proven track record of successfully managing and executing tradeshows, user conferences, and corporate events.
- Experience analyzing data, pulling call lists, and Excel reporting.
- Comfortable working with senior leaders to drive adoption of strategies and get buy-in.
- Demonstrated knowledge of event analytics and ROI experience is highly preferred.
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite – particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Comfortable with building and pulling CRM reports (particularly Salesforce).
- Adobe Creative Suite skills are an asset (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.)
- Organization and detail-oriented! Must be diligent with prioritization and timely project updates.
- Proven ability to multi-task and manage priorities.
