About The Role

The Poultry Key Account Manager for Kalmbach Nutritional Services (KNS) will be responsible for helping KNS grow our market presence by adding new customers and serving our current ones. In this high-profile role, you will have a great understanding of how to deliver nutritional services, products, and new technologies that bring value to poultry producers. You will have extensive knowledge of the needs of large production systems and find ways to bring them solutions. You will build and maintain relationships with key accounts, drive increased sales, organize effective account teams, and identify growth opportunities. This role requires you to be an extremely perceptive person, capable of relating to individuals on all levels. As unique situations present themselves, you must be sensitive to customer needs, corporate goals, team member development, and public image.

Daily Tasks And Responsibilities

  • Work closely with KNS team members and Kalmbach Feeds resources to bring cost and value advantages for our customers.
  • Identify prospective key accounts, gather preliminary information, and organize account teams.
  • Call on the leading U.S. poultry producers, uncover ways to bring value, and identify areas for improvement to earn business trust.
  • Provide feedback to our purchasing teams on ingredients and specialty product needs.
  • Be rewarded for new customer growth and development.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree in animal science preferred, advanced degree desired.
  • Three to five years of relevant industry experience.
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong understanding of poultry industry needs and a proven track record of bringing sales and service growth.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multi-tasking ability.
  • Strong analytical thinking approach to problem-solving.
  • Self-motivated attitude with the capability to set goals and objectives with minimal supervision.
  • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills.
  • Desire to help customers meet and exceed their goals.
  • Work from your home office located near customers and key prospects.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel 30% - 50% of the time, including overnight travel.
