This unique non-partnership track role will involve working on financing transactions, with a particular emphasis on borrowers that are emerging and high growth companies. This position is ideal for those seeking a bit more flexibility: the successful candidate can be based out of Ottawa, Toronto or even be fully remote within Ontario!

Main Responsibilities

• Assist senior lawyers in advising clients on various financing transactions
• Draft, review and negotiate financing documents, such as credit agreements, security documents, intercreditor agreements and opinions
• Manage transaction timelines, deliverables and closing processes
• Prepare, review and file PPSA financing statements and co-ordinate PPSA searches and due diligence reviews
• Engage on financing transactions with clients of the firm and manage and deliver financing transactions to their expectations
  
  

Position Requirements

• Be called to the Ontario Bar with a minimum of 1 – 3 years’ experience in private practice or in-house at a financial institution
• Experience in advising on a range of financing transactions
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team, as well as independently, and ability to work on multiple and complex transactions simultaneously and prioritize your time
• Ability to deliver assignments on time, as well as manage competing demands, without sacrificing attention to detail
• Willingness to learn, develop and take on new challenges and responsibilities
• Be proficient using technology and adaptable to change
