Quality Assurance Manager Position

MDB’s clients have high standards for the work they want to have done, and it is our job to meet those expectations and produce results that engender a desire to work with us more in the future. MDB is looking for a Part-time Quality Assurance Manager to support MDB’s water portfolio with a federal government client. The candidate will be hired on a contingent basis, dependent upon receipt of a contract award. Work can be performed from a remote location. This is an hourly, part-time position. An environmental background and knowledge of environmental industry standards is strongly preferred.

The Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for ensuring that MDB’s products, services, and processes meet company and government quality standards. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the overall implementation and maintenance of the company’s Quality Policy and may review the quality assurance processes of other MDB contracts to ensure the processes meet the company’s quality standards. They will develop a new Quality Assurance Project Plan for a new EPA contract, contingent upon contract award. The Quality Assurance Manager will oversee continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness of MDB’s company- and contract-level quality management systems, overseeing and evaluating implementation of the organization’s quality system, and reporting to senior leadership and program leads on the effectiveness of the quality system, including needs for improvement.

Candidates should be comfortable interfacing with senior leadership, leading meetings, and providing constructive input. Candidates should be skilled at working with program managers and staff to develop, implement, and maintain contract-level quality processes and quality control measures.

Specific Responsibilities Will Include

  • Reviewing and implementing company’s Quality Plan.
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining a contract-specific Quality Management Plan, Quality Assurance Project Plan, SOP, and checklists for an EPA contract.
  • Contributing to original writing and plan development for proposals.
  • Maintaining quality assurance plans for project databases.
  • Reporting to MDB program and project managers and senior leadership on quality review findings or concerns as they arise.
  • Advising program and project managers on quality issues for their particular contracts and projects.
  • Working in a team environment to plan, execute, and monitor all phases of contract deliverables with team members.
  • Advising and monitoring day-to-day activities and project steps for deliverable completion.
  • Interacting and coordinating with MDB staff to ensure quality assurance goals are achieved according to timelines.
  • Working closely with MDB staff to achieve a high level of quality on contract deliverables.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is required, Master’s degree strongly preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in government contract quality assurance management
  • Completed quality assurance and quality control trainings and/or holds certifications
  • Experience managing contract deliverables especially in support of federal agencies is desired
  • Experience working in a team environment and customer service focused
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability for attention to detail and to multi-task
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • A background in environmental work and understanding of environmental industry standards is strongly preferred.
