The Living Stones Foundation is a mission-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering communities through impactful projects worldwide. We are an early-stage nonprofit/tech startup preparing for a proof-of-concept launch, seeking passionate volunteers to join us as a Social Technology Specialist. This role is crucial in helping us harness technology to enhance the effectiveness and reach of our mission-driven initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Development and Implementation:

  • Design and implement digital tools to streamline project management, data collection, and reporting processes.
  • Develop platforms or applications that connect communities with resources and services offered by the foundation.
  • Explore opportunities to pilot advanced technological projects aimed at addressing challenges faced by underserved communities.
  • Support existing technological initiatives or collaborate on the development of new projects aligned with community needs.

Data Management

  • Establish and maintain databases to manage program data, track outcomes, and generate impact reports.
  • Ensure compliance with data security and privacy regulations.

Innovation And Training

  • Identify emerging technologies that align with the foundation's goals and propose strategies for their adoption.
  • Train team members and community partners on the effective use of technology solutions.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with project managers and stakeholders to understand their needs and customize technology solutions accordingly.
  • Collaborate with the communications team to enhance digital outreach efforts through innovative tools.

Required Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in technology implementation, IT, or related roles, preferably in a nonprofit, startup, or development-focused organization.
  • Proven expertise in managing or developing platforms like CRM systems, data visualization tools, or workflow automation.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based solutions (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) and database management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • Good communication skills in English.
  • Familiarity with tech for social good, including open-source software solutions.
  • Availability to commit a minimum of 30 minutes per week and attend weekly virtual meetings with screen-sharing capabilities.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in designing and implementing technology solutions for underserved communities.
  • Knowledge of nonprofit project management software or tools like Salesforce, Airtable, or Asana.
  • Familiarity with grant reporting and monitoring tools.
  • Interest in developing technological projects aimed at benefiting communities or experience piloting advanced projects to address community challenges.
