The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about literature.
Responsibilities
- Assist in reviewing and evaluating manuscript submissions.
- Communicate with authors regarding submissions, contracts, and general inquiries.
- Manage administrative tasks such as scheduling, filing, and database maintenance.
- Coordinate meetings and appointments on behalf of the literary agent.
- Research market trends and provide insights on potential book projects.
- Handle correspondence and maintain a professional relationship with authors and industry contacts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and database management.
- Knowledge of the publishing industry and literary trends.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Detail-oriented with a passion for literature and storytelling.
- Bachelor's degree in English, Literature, Communication, or related field.
- Prior experience in publishing, literary agency, or related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with contract review and copyright laws is a plus.
