Title: Literary Agent Assistant

Location: Remote (GMT hours)

We are searching for a Literary Agent Assistant to support our client in the publishing industry. This project-based role will involve assisting a literary agent in various tasks related to manuscript review, author communication, and administrative duties. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about literature.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in reviewing and evaluating manuscript submissions.
  • Communicate with authors regarding submissions, contracts, and general inquiries.
  • Manage administrative tasks such as scheduling, filing, and database maintenance.
  • Coordinate meetings and appointments on behalf of the literary agent.
  • Research market trends and provide insights on potential book projects.
  • Handle correspondence and maintain a professional relationship with authors and industry contacts.

Skills Required

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and database management.
  • Knowledge of the publishing industry and literary trends.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with a passion for literature and storytelling.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Literature, Communication, or related field.
  • Prior experience in publishing, literary agency, or related field is preferred.
  • Familiarity with contract review and copyright laws is a plus.
