The Role
The Director of Events will be a dynamic and experienced leader responsible for the strategic planning, execution, and overall success of Bloomerang's diverse field events program and our flagship conference, GiveCon as well as smaller owned events. This role includes leading a team of event professionals, overseeing the budget, and ensuring alignment with the company's marketing and sales goals. Reporting to the VP of Market Engagement, the Director will play a key role on our Marketing Team in enhancing brand visibility, generating leads, and fostering customer engagement through impactful and memorable field events.

Compensation
The salary range for this position is: $100,000 - $150,500. You may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent on your skills, experience, qualifications, and location, as well as applicable employment laws.
Location
This is a permanent, full-time, fully remote position. Employees living in Indianapolis, IN are welcome to work from our company headquarters. We do not offer Visa sponsorship or relocation assistance at this time.

The Role

Reporting to the VP of Market Engagement, the Director will play a key role on our Marketing Team in enhancing brand visibility, generating leads, and fostering customer engagement through impactful and memorable field events.
What You Will Do
- Develop and execute a comprehensive field marketing strategy that aligns with sales objectives and contributes directly to pipeline growth and revenue generation from key accounts and verticals.
- Lead, manage, and mentor event managers, ensuring their success and professional development.
- Oversee and manage a portfolio of tradeshows, maximizing our brand presence and impact.
- Set and manage the budget for all field events, ensuring fiscal responsibility.
- Track, analyze and report on lead generation, lead flow from field events and other related event metrics to optimize our ROI.
- Spearhead the strategy, planning, and execution of our owned conference GiveCon, ensuring its success and growth.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors, including hotels, A/V, catering, entertainment, consultants and other partners, securing favorable terms and conditions.
- Represent Bloomerang at industry events and conferences and have the ability to provide a high level pitch of the Bloomerang platform to prospects.
- Collaborate with other departments and peers within the company to ensure alignment and support for field events.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in field events
- 8-10+ years of experience in event management preferably in technology / software space.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with budgeting and forecasting
- Familiarity with project management software (Asana), Marketing Automation (Marketo) and CRM (Salesforce)
- Ability to travel 10-20% of the time and authorization to travel internationally if needed.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field
- Experience working with nonprofit organizations
