Summary Of Responsibilities

Working in an assigned territory, The Business Relationship Manager’s goal is to position Yamaha Financial Services as the preferred provider for Retail & Wholesale Finance, YMPP Extended Warranty & Yamaha branded Ancillary & creditor products.

As a representative for the finance company, The BRM is responsible for executing the YFS “profit first’ sales strategy – a defined process where BRM’s gain dealer support by building & presenting individual dealer profit forecasts based on defined volumes for each YFS product vertical. As the first point of contact for YFS, the BRM’s are also a key liaison for new dealer training on YFS’s systems & programs along with being frequently involved in providing transactional support to dealers.

BRM’s also support dealers in an effort to reach top tier status on the Yamaha Motor Canada Performance 360 program and work hand in hand with other field teams in development / execution of Regional Territory Sales plans.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Promoting the sales of YFS Retail, Wholesale & Protection product verticals & positioning YFS as the preferred Finance partner for Yamaha dealers. Build and nurture strong relationships with dealer principals, F&I teams & 3 rd party outsourced F&I agents as applicable.
  • Maintain a high degree of communication with Yamaha dealers and head office through call reports and direct communication. Working closely with partners in sales, other aftermarket product groups and Safeguard, help lead the “YMCA/YMFCA” market development initiative, with a focus on Finance & protection.
  • Build and maintain a high market profile in the assigned market area with both internal and external contacts. Ensure all aspects of assigned relationships receive ongoing attention, as required, to maintain, improve, grow and retain the relationship. Primary source of information on competitive programs and risk appetite positioning.
  • Ensure YMFCA relationship adds value to the dealership(s) while achieving regional goals and retail penetration objectives. Regularly achieve assigned targets for each YFS product vertical – retail finance (prime, non-prime, standard, sub-vented), wholesale finance & Yamaha Motor protection plan products.
  • Deliver excellent service to dealers though improving dealer satisfaction and resolution of issues. Maintain a high degree of communication with Yamaha dealers and head office through call reports and direct communication. Complete and participate in regional dealer presentations and consumer trade shows as required.

Experience Requirements

  • Degree/Diploma: Bachelor's Degree
  • Program of Study: Business, Marketing, Finance or Economics
  • Years of Experience: 5+ years of experience
  • Type of Experience: Consumer Finance Market and/or Sales

Skills And Abilities

  • Expert level knowledge of all aspects of prime & non-prime consumer credit, unit & payment protection products.
  • Above-average ambition and desire to succeed; be highly self-disciplined and intensely goal-oriented.
  • Strong understanding of dealer retail operations and sales processes.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a high level of service to dealers & colleagues.
  • Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Be seen as a changemaker amongst dealers by having a strong ability to inspire & influence changes to adapt to new challenges.
  • Time management skills with a sound sense of judgment in assessment of business development priorities.
  • Strong ability to work independently from a home office. Ability to work within non-traditional schedules where required.
  • Expert proficiency with Microsoft Office coupled with advanced ability to use other Internal systems as required.

Overtime Requirements

  • Frequent national travel required.
  • Work a minimum of 6 weekends during fiscal year attending consumer shows and territory dealer events.
