The Assistant Director of Human Resources supports the Director and Co-Director by managing documentation, coordinating volunteer management activities, and assisting with HR operations. This role is critical in maintaining an organized and compliant HR environment.

The Assistant Director of Human Resources supports the Director and Co-Director by managing documentation, coordinating volunteer management activities, and assisting with HR operations. This role is critical in maintaining an organized and compliant HR environment.
Responsibilities
- Ensure Accurate Documentation and File Management: Maintain comprehensive, organized, and confidential HR records and documents, ensuring compliance and handling sensitive information carefully.
- Coordinate Volunteer Management: Support volunteer engagement programs, including onboarding, training, and retention, to ensure high volunteer satisfaction.
- Compile HR Data and Track Metrics: Assist in compiling, analyzing, and reporting on HR data and metrics to support decision-making and track program progress.
- Assist in Performance Management: Help coordinate performance evaluations, provide administrative support, and address concerns.
- Organize Training Sessions: Support planning and coordination of employee and volunteer training, ensuring compliance and skill development.
- Facilitate Communication and Relationship-Building: Support communication efforts to foster a positive work culture and align with ANNISAA’s mission and values.
- Relevant Work Experience: Proven experience in human resources leadership, ideally within the non-profit sector, with a track record of developing and implementing HR strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Education and Certification: Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. CHRP/CHRL designation preferred.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, HRIS system HUMI, and payroll and benefits administration software.
- Human Resources Expertise: In-depth knowledge of employment laws and regulations, talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations, and compensation and benefits.
- Leadership and Team Management: Demonstrated experience leading and managing HR teams to effectively support organizational operations and employee engagement.
- Project and Change Management: Proven ability to manage HR projects and lead change initiatives, ensuring smooth implementation and adoption within the organization.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders, foster a positive workplace culture, and handle sensitive employee issues with diplomacy.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills for HR metrics and data analysis, with a demonstrated ability to identify trends, propose solutions, and improve organizational performance.
- Commitment to Mission and Cultural Competence: A strong passion for ANNISAA’s mission, understanding and sensitivity to diverse populations and a commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable work environment.
